About the DLPA

Our Mission

The Drakenstein Legal Practitioners' Association (DLPA) was established to serve the collective interests of the legal profession and the public within the Drakenstein municipal area. Our core objectives include:

• To watch over and advance the interests of the legal profession.

• To establish closer relationships and associations between members of the legal profession.

• To cooperate and liaise with the local magistracy, sheriff's offices, municipal government, the Legal Practice Council, and other relevant public and private bodies.

• To act in the general interest of the public and the profession to ensure that state mechanisms and the rule of law are maintained, upheld, and developed.

• To foster legal studies and conduct lectures, seminars, and study courses for our members.

Management Committee (2025/2026)

The affairs of the Association are managed by a committee elected by the members. The current office-bearers are:

• Chairperson: Bertus Snyman of Snyman Attorneys (Paarl)

• Vice-Chairperson: Ms Razine Adams of Adams Attorneys (Paarl)

• Secretary: Mr Niel du Plessis of Duvenage & De Villiers Attorneys (Wellington)

• Treasurer: Ms Lusharno Styles of Faure & Faure Inc. (Paarl)

• Committee Member: Mr Werner Schweidler of L Basson Attorneys (Wellington)

• Candidate Legal Practitioner Representative: Mr Dillon Plaatjies of Faure & Faure Inc. (Paarl)
